Duke’s Seafood is Now Proudly Serving 100% Organic Mary’s Chicken. Come Taste the Difference!

Almost 10 years ago, we started searching for 100% organic chicken for our restaurants. Not only because organic chicken tastes incredible, but we believe in supporting farmers who are excellent animal stewards and who treat the land with care.

Sourcing organic chicken wasn’t easy! So we worked with our supplier at the time and after several years of diligent work, we started sourcing organic chicken from them, likely becoming the first restaurant to create such a partnership.

But earlier this year, we realized that maybe it was time to expect more from our chicken. Not only to bring you the best in taste, but the highest standard of sustainability and animal ethics.

You can probably guess what happened next…we went searching.

Finding a new source for a restaurant that serves up hundreds of chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, and chicken chowder every day isn’t easy.

A supplier has to not only provide a superior product in taste, but they must meet consistency standards that are actually quite tricky – definitely a step above what an average grocery store requires. Add in the importance of sustainability and 100% organic and you have one very tall order.

Then we met Mary.

Or Mary’s Chicken, a family business 3 generations strong. They have always raised free-range birds, but began offering non-GMO chicken and turkeys and 100% organic chicken in 2003.

Mary’s also goes the extra mile in several wonderful ways. Their farms are Animal Welfare Certified, Certified Humane, Global Animal Partnership Certified, and their poultry is preservative-free, gluten-free, fed a 100% organic vegetarian diet, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and steroid-free.

And because their processing uses air-cooled technology instead of water and chemicals like most poultry producers, all the amazing flavor gets locked in, creating a juicy, tender, and flavor-packed chicken.
